Three Mouthwatering Spinach Preparations

Spinach is very nutritious and helps in constipation, insomnia, obesity, high blood pressure, some cancers, osteoporosis, and in many other ailments. Spinach is a rich source of vitamin C, vitamin A and various minerals. Here are three spinach recipes for you.

Blanched Spinach:



This is a very light and tasty preparation which is easy to make and digest. Boil some water with salt in a pan. When the water starts boiling, add some fresh and properly cleaned spinach and turn off the heat.

The spinach will get tender in no time. If you want to preserve the lovely green color of the spinach, then do not cover the pan and put the spinach directly into chilled water form the pan. Let it cool down.

Now take it out from water and leave as the water clinging on to it drains out. When serving, add a teaspoon of butter and sprinkle freshly ground black pepper on it.

Spinach Mushroom:

This is a preparation full of iron and ideal for an anemic person. Take a bunch of spinach, wash it properly and cut into large pieces. Cut button mushroom into four pieces and wash properly. Heat some olive oil on a pan.



Fry some crushed garlic. Sauté and add some chopped tomatoes. Now add mushroom and keep stirring. When the mushroom gets half tender add chopped spinach and salt. Stir and keep the lid on for five minutes.

Cook on slow heat. At this point water is released from spinach and mushroom. This water helps to make vegetables tender and accompanied with tomato, it makes the gravy. Add chili flakes and oregano before removing it from heat. Serve hot.



Spinach Egg:



Boil 5 eggs, shell and keep them aside. Blanch 500 gm spinach and blend it into fine green paste. Now cut eggs into equal halves and fry them on butter oil. Arrange them on a serving plate and keep aside.

Heat some butter or oil in pan; fry a tablespoon of onion paste and then add ½ tablespoon ginger paste, chopped tomatoes, salt and keep stirring. When the oil starts leaving the mixture, add the green spinach paste.

Keep stirring till you have finished frying. Add some water to make the gravy. Add a pinch of sugar, stir and remove it from heat. Add finely chopped green chilies and pour the gravy upon the eggs. Serve it hot.
