Some foods cause acid in your body. Though high acid is not life threatening, they cause you a lot of discomfort by unbalancing your ph level. Mentioned below are some high acidic foods.Vegetables are good for you health especially which contain fiber. However some vegetables also increase the acid levels in your body. You should not consume such vegetables if you are trying to get rid of acid. Such vegetables are lentils, olives, corn, winter squash etc.



Some foods which also cause acids in your body, apart from giving you other nutrients, are blueberries, canned fruits, currants etc. Juice of processed fruits too causes acid therefore you should avoid them if you want to control acid in your body. Most grains are high in acid such as barley, flour, wheat, rye etc. Some processed grains should be avoided too such as white bread, biscuits, pastries, pasta etc.

Dairy products such as milk, butter, yogurt, ice-cream etc. are highly acidic and should be avoided if you have acid problem. In fact, you should avoid any form of dairy products to control acid in your body. Some non-vegetarian foods are high in acid such as eggs, meat, fish etc. Processed meats which cause even more acid are sausage, corned beef, bacon etc. You should also avoid chicken, shellfish, lamb, seafood etc if you want to reduce acid in your body.

Nuts such as walnuts, peanuts, pistachios etc. are high in acid. Hence avoid consuming them as long as you have acid problem. Black beans, chick peas, soy beans, red beans too cause acid. Some oils to be avoided are safflower, avocado, canola, olive etc. Alcohols of all kinds are acidic such as wine, liquor, beer etc. Beverages too are high in acid such as soda, spirit, coffee etc.

Artificially sweetened foods are also highly acidic. These foods in general are not good for health. They harm your body in many ways apart from causing acidity. Therefore avoid such foods which are artificially sweetened such as ice-creams, chocolate, cakes etc. Spoonful, Sweet N Low, Equal are different types of artificial sweeteners which create toxins in your system. Hence you should strictly avoid their usage.
