Method To Make Grilled Salmon At Home

Salmon is a versatile fish which can be cooked in variety of ways.  Like it can either be poached or steamed or grilled .In case of salads, it is generally consumed raw .Grilled salmon recipe is a very healthy dish which helps to avail the benefits of protein , omega 3 fatty acids, calcium,phosphorus,minerals  and vitamins(A,B2,B12 and D) present in salmon. 

In addition to this, below mentioned salmon recipe is cooked by grilling the fish and hence it is called ‘Grilled Salmon Recipe’.Grilling ,is one of the healthiest mode of cooking which helps to retain the healthy and nutritive benefits of all the ingredients used in cooking the dish.



Human body does not produce omega 3 fatty acids but is one of the essential nutrients required to keep our heart healthy.So; by eating grilled salmon one can provide our body with all the essentials benefits of omega 3 fatty acids.  Omega 3 fatty acids, reduces the probability of heart diseases by reducing blood clotting, blood lipids, and inflammatory processes .

It thus, helps to relax our blood vessels.  Beside this, omega 3 fatty acid present in salmon, helps to reduce joint pains and prevents Alzheimer’s disease and other age related diseases. Minerals and vitamins present in salmon helps in having healthy glowing skin. Thus, grilled salmon recipe is not only tasty but it also beneficial for our healthy body.

Serves: 4 people
Ingredients used for cooking grilled salmon are

1/2 cup of seafood sauce(divided into two equal halves), 1 pound of salmon steaks or fillets, 1 can (aprox  8 ounces) of slices of pineapple.


Preparation of grilled salmon

Take a shallow dish and pour 1/4 cup of seafood sauce .Now put the streaks or fillets of salmon fish onto the sea food sauce.  Coat each of these pieces thoroughly from all the sides. Similarly coat each piece of pineapple with the seafood sauce. Refrigerate these sauce coated fillets of salmon fish and pineapple pieces for 20 minutes.  If you have time and want some extra flavor, keep them in refrigerator for some extra time.  Once done, remove the fish fillets and slices of pineapple from the sauce.  Discard the remaining seafood sauce.

Now, heat the griller on medium to high heat and place the fish fillets on them.  Grill each side of the fish fillet for approximately 6 to 7 minutes.  While grilling, brush the side of the fish fillet with the remaining ¼ cup of seafood sauce.  Prick a clean fork into the side of the fish fillet and check if it’s  cooked.



If the fork comes out clean, it implies fish is cooked.  Turn the side of the fish fillet and grill it’s other side.  Brush the other side also with sea food sauce.  Similarly check the other side of fish fillet (using a fork). Grill the pieces of pineapple for 2 minutes or until heated through. Serve this grilled salmon and pineapple with steamed white rice and steamed vegetables.


Tip

Salmon can be substituted with swordfish or mahi mahi .

It should be served piping hot.
