Peas Soup Recipe

Peas soup is healthy creamy and delicious soup. It bears a healthy appetizing look owing to its dark green color. Peas are available in abundance in winters which is just an apt season to gorge on soups.

Even if you want to make it in summers, you can use the frozen peas which are available all year around. Peas contain phytonutrients called coumestrol which help protect against stomach cancer. , healthy, textured soup made from an impossibly short list of ingredients.



They are rich in proteins, fiber, minerals and vitamins. They are also high in iron and vitamin C which boosts immunity in body. So here is a Peas soup recipe which is less spicy and contains very less fats , so if you are on a diet it is your savior. It will be liked by kids equally.

Ingredients

1 large onion, chopped

½ a spoon of Cumin seeds

½ tablespoon of garlic paste.

1 tablespoon of butter

1 table spoon oil

Salt to taste

Freshly ground black pepper

2-3 cups of fresh or frozen peas

4 teaspoons plain nonfat yogurt or cream

Cinnamon stick ½ inch long

Preparation Method

In a pan or a pot put some butter and a table spoon of oil. We are adding oil so that butter does not burn. Heat it. Put onion and fry it till translucent. Add garlic paste and fry. Add salt to it so that garlic paste does not stick to the pan. Add the cinnamon and fry till it oozes out flavor.



In a separate pan put 2-3 glasses of water and boil the peas until soft. Now strain the water and blend the peas into a smooth paste in blender. Put this puree in the Pan in which onions where fried. Now add black pepper powder, salt and cream or yogurt.

Since the soup is creamy, it can be accompanied with bread sticks. Alternatively you can cut the bread into small diagonal chunks and deep fry it and put it into the soup, which makes this soup even tastier.

But be careful to but the fried bread crumps just before serving, otherwise it will make the bread soggy. Serve the nutritious and delicious peas soup in soup bowl garnished with parsley leaves and hint of cream.
